Compress a PDF
Make a PDF smaller for email or upload. Light, medium or strong compression, done in your browser with no upload and no account. Text stays sharp.
Free. No account. The file stays on your device.
Shrink a PDF that is too big to send. Pictures inside the file are re-encoded at a lower resolution while text, vector drawings and links stay exactly as they were. Pick light, medium or strong depending on how small it needs to be.
The file is compressed on your device, so a large scan of a passport or a signed contract never goes to a server.
How it works
- Tap Compress a PDF, then Compress PDF in the PDF Tools list.
- Choose the PDF and a strength: light, medium or strong.
- Compare the new size, then download or share the smaller file.

Questions
How much smaller will the PDF get?
It depends on the pictures inside it. Scans and photo-heavy files often shrink by 50-90%; a text-only PDF is already small and changes little.
Does compression blur the text?
No. Text is kept as text; only the embedded images are re-encoded.
Is there a size limit?
No fixed limit. Very large files simply take longer on a phone.
